Our nation is now so horrifically, going up in flames
Immense wildfires are now consuming the Southwest
Severe Drought, is plaguing forty percent of America
While our politicians are devilishly destroying all the rest
To the north, entire old growth forests are now being leveled
For production of the dirtiest, most destructive oil - Tar Sands
In the Southeast, we are blowing up our mountaintops, for coal
As politicians joyously proclaim “Isn’t all this new energy grand!”
Fracking, to produce natural gas, is already causing tremors and earthquakes
Fresh water lakes, and rivers, and streams, are being drenched with pollution
Deep water drilling in the Gulf and in Alaska, will generate more hellish oil spills
In our greed-filled quest to exploit it all, for our planet, there will be no solution
And no effort at all is being taken to curtail our now skyrocketing human population
Our ‘leaders’ and most residents of our planet today have forsaken future generations
I sadly envision our once vibrant, life-filled planet as a devastated, barren, hellish place
The thought of what we once had, heaven on earth, now seems to be lost in our nation

The news we are being fed is sugar coated, bias bull, political crap. The sad truth is most of us do not know the truth. We are putting our faith is our government and big business to "Do the right thing" for it's humble citizens. The only time we find out the "truth" these days is when a major accident occurs and the damage is already done. Then it's blasted all over kingdom come news stations worldwide. All countries and all governments fall short. I ask for ONE good model of ONE country that is SERVING the needs of their citizens without literally destroying the land it's people live on. We need to follow THAT model! Iceland and the Swiss rate among the top 10 cleanest of the industrial giants, Austria is another, France is also surprisingly rated 7 out of 10. Here is the source:
