Although I rescue a lot of dogs
I also admire and rescue felines
And this feline’s story is amazing
It is hard to believe he is still alive
He wandered onto a Chinese cargo ship
And was trapped in a crate, for three weeks
He had absolutely no food or water all this time
So he instinctively ‘shut down’ and went to sleep
Three weeks later, when the crate was opened in California
He was discovered there, eyes closed, curled up in a furry ball
He should have died; he could not walk, see, or make any sound
He was taken to a shelter, and now he thrives, amazing one and all
And just like Rags, the canine expressway survivor, many now wanted him
Over 80 people soon applied to adopt and take home this cat named ‘Ni Hao’
His name means ‘Hello’ a fitting name for a feline that journeyed 6,500 miles
And was able to survive, without drinking or eating for three weeks, somehow
Ni Hao, the courageous cargo ship stowaway, now has a loving home in California
But there are thousands of deserving felines like him in shelters all across this nation
Please don’t wait for the next cargo ship to arrive from across the sea, to adopt a cat
Each and every feline just like Ni Hao deserves a home, filled with love and affection

to survive (dogs and cats). How their instinct
to do what they can kicks in. All but one of
my cats came from a shelter or were rescued.
They are all special and deserve a loving home.
Mankind seems to forget that these beautiful
heaven sent animals (dogs and cats) have
feelings too. They aren't toys we get tired
of and discard when the newness of a puppy or
kitten wear off. These are our family
members and our gift. People need to think
long and hard before they buy one. They
are a lifetime commitment and suffer the
same rejection feelings and such that any
human would.
I am grateful this little soul was saved.
Maybe he can give a lesson to many
and I do hope that the owners love him
the rest of his natural life not because
he was a celebrity for that moment. All
deserve a chance.

Wow! What a story with such a delightful ending! Now I know what it means when they say a cat has 9 lives. God must have big plans for this feline named Ni Hao. Perhaps it is to bring joy to a lonely person who can be an inspirational writer. My Sammy boy brings me joy and love every day unconditionally. How can we ever be like that? No I doubt if a human can ever be a match for the love of a cat.
