Camping with his loyal old dog
In the mountains of New Mexico
He awoke to find his old friend gone
For many days, he searched for Romeo
His missing friend was fifteen years old
Rangers told him his dog wouldn’t survive
He finally gave up searching, and went home
Never expecting to ever again, see his dog alive
Over two months later, another man spotted a dog
So haggard and emaciated, in those rugged mountains
He compassionately transported him to an animal hospital
Very luckily for this dog, his lonely wandering was at an end
As all we pet rescuers do, he asked them to scan for a chip
And very thankfully, Romeo’s human friend had gotten him one
Man and Dog were soon reunited, and on their way back home
Good old Romeo had beaten the odds, his agonizing ordeal done

They Have Reunited Many Cherished Lost Friends,
Who Are Still Alive, Hoping to Be Found, Out There.
I Myself Recently Found Two Starving Lost Dogs,
That Had Very Thankfully, Both Been Micro-Chipped;
Both of Them Have Now Been Reunited With Their Families,
Both of Them Are Back Home; Both of Them Were Truly Missed.
