He was abandoned by his family
Left for dead, inside their house
He endured a hellish nightmare
Yet he forgives, without a doubt
I went to visit with him yesterday
Happy that he is now feeling better
An IV filled with fluids, saved his life
Yet, his capacity for love, is undeterred
As soon as he spotted me, his dark eyes lit up
And although still weak, his tail began to wag
Unlike we humans, he does not hold a grudge
And unlike we humans, he never thought to nag
He was simply very thankful, just to be getting a visitor
He quickly decided, that he wanted to perch, on my lap
As I stroked his head, and I told him he was a ‘good boy’
He kissed my hand in appreciation, and soon he took a nap
Newbee will eventually be discharged from the animal hospital
Several people are now interested in adopting this sweet boy
Despite the cruelty of mankind, he has decided to forgive us
Dogs continue to teach me about love, true friendship, and joy
He was abandoned by his family,
Left for dead, inside their house;
He endured a hellish nightmare,
Yet, he forgives, without a doubt.

could learn this wonderful attribute... Some of
mankind is capable... unfortunately we are human
and most only look to themselves for what is good
for them without compassion and love that our lovely
animal friends have.
Wonderful as always, it gives me hope that maybe the
few that read this (Outside our fellow writers)
will be touched in some way about the power of forgiveness
and unconditional love...
