“Until one has loved an animal,

A part of one's soul remains unawakened.”

Anatole France

There she stood, in the morning mist

Another abandoned orphan, in an alley

Starving, shivering, sad, and so all alone

Yet another victim, of today’s inhumanity

Two of my neighbors spotted her standing there

They took pity on her, bringing her in from the mist

They wrapped her in a blanket, and gave her some food

They wondered how long she had been out there, like this

And soon, they called me on the telephone, asking me what to do

I told them to take her to an animal hospital, to be scanned for a chip

She had none, and she wore no collar, tags, or any information about her

She was matted, dirty, and so forlorn, devoid of all her former canine bliss

They also soon sadly discovered that all four of her paws were bloody and torn

As if she had been searching for new guardians, as if she had traveled a long way

I was overjoyed when my neighbors called to tell me they have named her ‘Misty’

They’ve now decided to keep her, and to give her the love that she deserves today

Until one has loved an animal,

A part of one's soul remains unawakened.

There are now thousands of homeless animals,

Just like Misty, on our streets and in our shelters,

All waiting and hoping, for someone to love them.

How wonderful, this little Misty was brought
to them... it was their gift of her from someone
greater :)

Another lost member of nature's children has been saved from the midst. Blessings to the saviors of the world and not to the careless ones who throw pets away like unwanted trash.

From whose birthing tummy where they torn, not know of mothers pain, when they were born, the selfish brut, that man he is, should not the feelings of her love he miss. Yet still, in hearts of love, and true compassion, would a loving mothers heart she ration. Is there the spring, the summer sun, when life it first begun, and feelings then where born, but bit by bit away were torn? There is the well of deep regret, in brutal man, I place my bet.
