Music: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Not long ago, he wandered alone
He was an outcast, in our society
He was called a ‘Feral,’ a Wild One
He shunned all contact with humanity
A lot of people said that he could not be ‘civilized’
Many of them scoffed, when I brought him home
They said that he would run at the first opportunity
They believed that he was too wild, that he’d roam
He was abandoned as a very young pup
He was forced to make his way all alone
Today, he is a very happy former outcast
And, he brings such laughter to our home
He always initiates some sort of canine mischief
He loves to steal my shoes, and then hides them
He leads midnight raids, on the dog treat cabinet
With him around, our dog pack’s antics, never end
Yesterday, he decided to chew out a hole in his blanket
And, he somehow began wearing it, just like an old poncho
He proudly strutted all around the house like a Western outlaw
Our entire canine pack followed after him, wherever he would go
And today, I sit here wondering if I let him watch too much T.V.
He is now very addicted to all the classic old Westerns, just like me
Just the day before that he decided to make himself his own poncho
He sprawled on the sofa watching ‘The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly’
And tonight, he and I are going to watch ‘The Wild Bunch’ yet once again,
Just like every dog I have rescued, The Poncho Kid, is this man’s best friend.
And he has now inspired me to create a brand new line of Canine Ponchos,
All of my dogs will soon be nice and warm this winter, wherever we may go.
