Music: God Help The Outcasts
At the end of each and every year now
I reflect on street orphans we have helped
The Year 2012 was a horrific one for them
Far too many abandoned pets among us dwell
So many pets, that were once loved by someone
Then tossed out like a piece of trash on the street
So many animals, that deserved far better from us
These are some of the numerous orphans I did meet
Shortly after New Year’s Day, I found Pooh in the park
Matted, starving, freezing, and so very terrified in the dark
Then there was poor little Rags, tossed out on a busy expressway
Dodging the rush hour traffic, running for his life, that horrific day
Soon, there was terrified Ruby, left behind, at a major league ball park
Ignored by everyone attending the games – so invisible there in the dark
Next came Shadow, who was tossed out of a van, when he was just a puppy
He soon became a ‘Feral’ – distrusting every human that he met on the street
Then I soon learned about Highway, lying forlorn on the side of an Interstate
Dumped there, struck down by a vehicle, immense pain and starvation his fate
It wasn’t very long after Highway, that I heard about a tiny dog in a store parking lot
Sweetie waited there for her family who didn’t return, deserving far better than she got
Then, I got a call about Soldier; he had been wandering the streets, with his only friend
Who was struck down by a car and killed; he refused to leave his friend’s side at the end
Then, I heard about little Rudy, an abandoned dog, wandering the streets of a plush suburb
Those living there, walking their own dogs, simply ignored his plight in today’s cruel world
Our most recent orphan is a truly lovable canine, who was left behind in a foreclosed home
By the time that he was finally rescued, Newbee was almost dead, so emaciated, so all alone
And there are very sadly, so many other street orphans, that we have not been able to help yet
Please consider adopting a deserving orphan in 2013; we should all help these abandoned pets
We, who have so very much,
Need to reach out to the orphans,
And show them the care, the hope,
And the love, that they all truly deserve.

I feel the problem is basic, value, the value of life and souls, as long as we think of them as just another toy, that when not wanted no more, thrown out, and so many toy factories producing thousands more for the market, it's easy when you think a toy has no soul, UNACCOUNTED, is the big story here, a piece of meat only, not a life, do I have to say more? If all or any of them were precious, like our children, we'd want to know, what happened to them, wouldn't we?
