I have read many stories
About loyal dogs at graves
And I just read about Toldo
A grieving feline in Italy today
Toldo’s human friend, died a year ago
He had taken in Toldo, as a young kitten
A year after his passing, Toldo still grieves
And he still goes to the cemetery to visit him
Mr. Renzo’s family still finds tokens of tribute
That Toldo still takes to Renzo’s grave every day
His grieving feline, leaves twigs and flowers there
His suffering at their separation, has not gone away
The day Mr. Renzo was laid to rest, his feline friend was there
And today, Toldo continues to visit his human friend, after a year
I know that both canines and felines give us, their unconditional love
How many of us can truly say the same, of friends that we’ve held dear
I have read many stories,
About loyal dogs at graves;
And I just read about Toldo,
A grieving feline in Italy today.
