Ever since those abysmal days in New Orleans after Katrina
I’ve been hearing about both animal rescue and abuse stories
Horrifically, animal abuse stories now far surpass happy ones
And each abuse story, sadly makes me wonder about humanity
Animal Abuse, Neglect, and Cruelty have now spread nationwide
In this era of national economic stress, the animals suffer greatly
As soon as we human beings face any kind of financial difficulty
We quickly forsake our God-given stewardship and responsibility
Thousands of abandoned canines now wander the streets of Detroit
In St. Louis, neglected and abused pets, are now found, everywhere
Outside Houston, people dump their pets in ‘The Corridor of Cruelty’
The emaciated young horse above, dying out in a field, very few cared
A volunteer with Humane Society of Louisiana found this starving horse
It could no longer stand, and it was rescued by her, hours away from death
And in my area, the telephone calls and e-mails are now very sadly, non-stop
“Can you possibly rescue yet another one?” we see no end to all this cruelty yet

The latest thing I saw on Northwoods Law, were four young Chinese men with legal out-of-state hunting licenses baiting bears and hunting them from the road at night in Maine. They were given fines and a slap on the wrist. I suspect their real motive was to kill bears to sell bear parts on the black market in China for big bucks. The show didn't point that out. It isn't politically correct to implicate anyone because of their race.
