The Horrid Flip Side To All The Pedigreed Pets,

Being Purchased For ‘Our Abysmal Dog Shows’

“Few people are even aware of the enormous numbers

Of American pets that are now being abandoned each year.

These animals that are being abandoned eventually become feral,

Die of disease or starvation, or are picked up by an animal shelter.

Today, over 70 percent of all pets now taken to shelters are KILLED.”

Another call, another orphan

This one, starving and afraid

Tossed out, like the garbage

In our uncaring nation today

She was lying there, with all of the trash

Her eyes, among the saddest that I’ve seen

Emaciated, forlorn, and extremely frightened

Yet one more victim of mankind’s inhumanity

Her very first instinct was to run away from us

How could she know that we were there to help

For weeks, passersby had all just ignored her

Very few even seemed to care, about her hell

We knelt down and we offered her a bit of food

Thankfully, her hunger was greater than her fear

Soon, she was safe and warm in someone’s truck

Never looking back, leaving her horrific past here

We have now named this latest victim of our modern cruelty

Rosie, since she was finally rescued on St. Valentine’s Day

She is now safe, and warm, and no longer living like garbage

But there are thousands more like her, all across America today

It overwhelms me and sickens me, I just rescued
a sweet angel myself...

I like to believe that there are thousands more with your loving heart. Only, they don't realise how much good they will do if they knew how to go about preventing the animal armageddon.

I cannot even look at the photos of animals being treated like trash. This is not what God had in mind when he put man in charge to care for the animals on earth. One was saved, but how many others suffer needlessly?

An extremely sad sunday before church picture, should they not be at least in our thoughts and prayers, and an admonition from the moral directives of the pulpit, to act. With millions and millions of good Christians , should it not be possible to have an effect, just wondering out loud. You could send some of those awful pictures to President Obama, to see where his heart is, and some to some foreign journalist to embarrass ourselves, but who would that be, that is what makes it so sad, it's a plaque on the world, and worse other places, this higher so called species makes me wonder, there are few around like yourself, bless you Ed.

I don't know what to say anymore. It's a shame that all of the people like you and I, can't turn a whole country into an animal sanctuary and have a safe place for each and every one of them.
All I can do is shed useless tears for those beyond my reach.
