She was starving and forlorn

Homeless and now all alone

Today, she finally has a family

Today, she finally has a home

We had found her on the street

She was truly a walking skeleton

Abandoned and abused by someone

With great sadness that wouldn’t end

We soon drove her to an animal hospital

She had pneumonia, and she was starving

It took weeks for her to regain her strength

Tender loving care, her healing would bring

And then she spent several long weeks waiting

For a compassionate family, to give her a home

My heart now rejoices for this deserving orphan

Rosie is no longer sad, starving, sick, or all alone

There are many other canines just like Rosie

Waiting for someone to welcome them home

All of these abandoned dogs deserve far better

None of them want to be homeless rolling stones
