”Loneliness, and the feeling of being unwanted,

Is the most terrible poverty of all.”

Mother Theresa

Music:  Blue on Blue

I have now been walking the moonlit landscape

Searching for an old abandoned and abused dog

He was last seen standing on some railroad tracks

I pause and look up at the blue moon, perched on a log

What a lonely looking blue moon it is this August evening

I suddenly hear a lone coyote, lamenting his utter loneliness

He is somewhere far down this lonely stretch of endless rails

I now suddenly wonder if lonely dog and lonely coyote have met

I eventually get up and I head down this lonely old stretch of rails

Where I now encounter a lonely homeless man, sitting in the brush

He asks me for a cigarette; I ask him if he has seen a lonely old dog

He says he has, that it wandered by him aimlessly, head down, hushed

I sadly continue on my late night, blue moon trek, along these lonely old tracks

As I eventually head home, with no luck finding this lonely dog, I vow to come back

Brokenhearted - loneliness - our pets are the best cures for this!

Everyone - even the homeless needs a pet. May we all find our match.

May this pet who is lost be found.

Blessings,

The mood of this poem of a blue moon night is truly blue. Your perseverance is its own reward and find that lonesome pup. Good luck and happy hunting.
