As the outrage now grows about the stray dog slaughter in Sochi
People in every town in America, ignore their own neighborhoods
Their very own neighbors are helping to torture animals on Craigslist
And Craigslist does not care to enforce its very own rules, as it should

On Craigslist, people give away or sell their own pets to complete strangers
The Animal Predators delight in responding to ‘Free To A Good Home’ Ads
They use the pets they obtain for dog fighting rings, and other forms of torture
And very few in our nation even seem to care; yet at Russia, they are now mad

In addition to the dog fighters and animal abusers, atrocious puppy mill breeders
Unload their sick puppies on Craigslist, those they are unable to sell to pet stores
Any profit is better than none, so they practically give them away, to the abusers
While the outrage against Russia is justified, we must also look to our own shores

Like Sochi, there is now a petition being circulated to end this Craigslist Animal Abuse
But as one who has signed countless Animal Cruelty petitions, I know they are ignored
Please, do not give away or sell your dog, cat, hamster, or pet bunny rabbit, on Craigslist
Although we like to think our nation cares for animals, we help abuse them, more and more

I have seen tortured dogs like the one above,
They are all around us, in this nation, today;
Closing our eyes to the atrocities all around us,
Will not alleviate their agony, or make it go away.
