Music: Beautiful Times


The wonder of Nature has always inspired me
In everything of Nature, I always take delight
And, I always thank God, for my Nature travels
As I did after another Earth Day outing last night

Three of my canines had awakened me before dawn
They had been so very eager to enjoy a Spring day
And very soon, we were now heading up to the lake
Where all three of my dogs wanted to swim and play

Our morning at the lakefront had been quite delightful
My three canines and I had greeted the migrating loons
Life, was again returning, to the winter-weary northland
We knew that warmer days would now be arriving soon

Our Earth Day Outing began along the lakeshore
Which eventually led us to a field of wildflowers
These flowers, attracted a red-winged blackbird
Which I could happily listen to singing, for hours

And this blackbird’s song soon attracted the attention
Of two very inquisitive young foxes, from the wood
I stood in that meadow, gazing at these two newborns
Marveling, that this spring morning, had been so good

These two red fox siblings silently observed me, as well
Until my three dogs began barking at them, from the car
They then vanished, back into the forest, and out of sight
It was time to head home, one of our best nature trips so far

The wonders of Nature have always inspired me,
In everything of Nature, I have always taken delight;
And, I always thank God, for my numerous Nature travels,
As I did after we returned from our Earth Day outing last night.

And I will continue to believe that we should be protecting,
Not destroying, all of the natural wonders on our planet;
Not only on Earth Day, but every single day of the year,
Far too many today don’t care, or take them for granted.
