Man-made things do not move me
I am in awe of natural, native things
Like glorious sunsets and wildflowers
And, Earth’s wondrous re-birth in Spring

And each and every spring planting season
I now revel in all things ‘native’ to my area
Getting back to Earth’s own natural beauty
Helps me re-live a truly wondrous by-gone era

And native plants, and flowers, and shrubs
Enable me to attract marvelous native wildlife
Like bees, and songbirds, and lovely butterflies
Which bring so much joy to myself and to my wife

There are places all across America to purchase ‘natives’
I have linked one, associated with The Wildlife Federation
Please try planting something native and natural, in your area
It brings my wife and I, such wondrous satisfaction and elation

Plants and Flowers and Shrubs and Trees that are ‘Native’ to an Area:
Adapt much better to the soil and climate
Attract many native birds and butterflies
Offer food and shelter for native wildlife
Usually require far less watering and care
Thrive, with no noxious, man-made chemicals
And solve landscape problems that non-natives can’t

I’ve found that ‘Going Native’ is a marvelous way,
For me to get ‘Back to Basics’ in my life, every day.
