Animal Experimentation Rests On A Logical Contradiction.

We like to call ourselves ‘modern’ and ‘civilized’
But we still perform experiments on live animals
We prod, and poke, and inject, and torture them
And after a life of sheer misery, we just kill them all

We have been doing this to chimpanzees, for years
We’ve also been doing this to rabbits, dogs, and cats
Some people believe that it’s time for us to stop all this
And some people are actually taking some action, at last

One initiative is called ‘The Beagle Freedom Project’
Their mission: to rescue Beagles being tortured in labs
To finally give them a chance, at a normal canine life
And to now place them in loving, forever, homes, at last

The state of Minnesota has finally agreed to help them
Lab animals in this state, will no longer be put to sleep
Other states are now finally considering similar legislation
Any step in the right direction, is a very good step indeed

I’m especially interested in this ‘Beagle Freedom Project’
Since I recently rescued a Beagle that was being abused
She is one of the most intelligent canines I have ever met
And I am extremely happy that her misery is now through
