-->“What I take from my nights,
I add to my days.”
Leon de Rotrou
Music: Magic Travels
I am sitting, out on the lake
In a boat, in the dead of night
I gaze about, at all of the beauty
Provided by the magical moonlight
A slight ripple, on the lake’s blue water
A soothing night breeze, among the pines
A gorgeous summer night, in the northwood
A time to reflect, on the day’s wonders divine
A day that had begun, with an early breakfast
At a rustic old log cottage, right on the lakeshore
Followed by some fishing, and some lake exploring
Two pastimes that I still always enjoy, more and more
There was a time, when I was much too busy, to enjoy my life
But now, just being out on this lake water, is what I really crave
Leaving all my cares and worries back on dry land, for another day
Discovering what’s around the next bay, looking deep into the waves
As my gaze now turns left to the shoreline, I spot our glimmering porch light
I wonder if my spouse has already awakened, wondering where I have gone
I crank the boat motor, and I slowly head back, taking in all this night’s beauty
Contemplating the day ahead, while listening to birds singing their ode to dawn
What I take from my nights,
I now always add to my days.
