My wife and I attended The Taco Fest
But this time, we attended as volunteers
We were working for a canine rescue group
In a Beer Tent, pouring and serving cold beers

It was a wonderful way for us, to help this pet rescue group
To raise additional money, to save more dogs at the pound
All the Signs and the Tip Jars said ‘All Tips Go To The Dogs’
And the majority of our customers were the best tippers around

And, it was a truly lovely autumn day, with an enormous crowd
Who enjoyed live music, drinking some beer, and eating some tacos
After our shift was over, I myself, sampled a few of the fabulous beers
And my wife and I agreed that next year, again as volunteers we would go

Nobody can do everything,
But everyone can do something;
Volunteer for a cause you care about,
Doing Something, is a marvelous thing.
