Today is ‘National Feral Cat Day’
Started in 2001, by Alley Cat Allies
To raise awareness about feral cats
To hopefully open more human eyes

There are millions of homeless cats in America
The offspring of very cruelly abandoned pet cats
Most of these cats, do not trust we human beings
So they are killed in our shelters – a very sad fact

Trap-Neuter-Return is the humane solution for them
Allowing them to live their lives, in feral cat colonies
Many people are now dedicated Feral Cat Caretakers

I have also adopted feral kittens that I have helped to trap
Newborns can be socialized, and can become loving pets
As I pen this, a young feral kitten is fast asleep on my lap
