Abandoned Hank was ‘Dumpster Diving’ for food;
Shadow was abandoned when he was a young puppy;
And Highway was found on an interstate with a broken leg.

Vicious people attempt to make them so.”
This Saturday, October 25th
Is ‘National Pit Bull Awareness Day’
An observance, started back in 2007
Because these dogs are being vilified today
Once, they were praised for their loyalty and their bravery
Assisting our valiant soldiers, in World Wars One and Two
Once, they were called ‘The Nanny Dog’ safeguarding children
Once, they were ‘The Family Dog’ for presidents and celebrities too
Today, they are vilified because vicious dog fighters abuse them
In their horrendous dog fighting rings, all across the United States
As a Pit Bull Rescuer and Advocate, who has two wonderful Pit Bulls
I do what I can to restore their good name, and to educate people today

I'm with you on the nature of pit bulls, but when owners keep them in captivity, or when they are part of a "pack" I have seen dogs become quite vicious even though I've been able to handle the most vicious quite easily by disarming them with being nonaggressive in their presence. You are right, dogs aren't naturally vicious, it's humans that make them that way.
