It’s ‘National Adopt A Senior Pet’ Month
So many older pets now need a new friend
So many of them, are now in animal shelters
So please consider helping their agony to end

These senior pets, all once had homes
Then were abandoned, by their families
All they want is a little love and kindness
In return, they freely give love and loyalty

And so very sadly, they are always the last
To be adopted by anyone at the city pounds
They now languish in their cages, all alone
Often giving up, on a new life being found

I found abandoned, starving, senior Scruffy
Wandering the alleys, digging through trash
His heart filled with sadness, ever so lonely
Today he is happy; his agony now in the past

He loves hanging around in our yard, with his pals
He loves getting regular meals, and taking long naps
Please consider adopting a senior dog or cat this month
Pets like old Scruffy, deserve human loyalty that will last
