Music: A Whole New World

A national television news report just yesterday
Said there are now hundreds of coyotes in Chicago
I would beg to differ – I think there are now thousands
Since I now see Canis Latrans (Coyote) everywhere I go

I see them in city parks, and as I walk along our railroad tracks
Attempting to corral a lost or a homeless domesticated canine
I see them dodging traffic on extremely busy streets, late at night
Their presence doesn’t disturb me; I think all wild animals are divine

I have now even caught a few hungry coyotes, in my baited dog traps
And, they have sat very docilely in my traps, until I release them again
Unlike their cousin the Wolf, who is now being annihilated in our nation
Coyotes have adapted to urban life, and I hope their presence doesn’t end

When Coyote first arrived in our urban areas all across the United States
Mankind’s first reaction was fear, and most people wanted them destroyed
But many are now realizing, that their diet consists mainly of urban rodents
Which our cities are over-run with, and Coyote works for free, in our employ

I've also caught Opossums, Raccoons, and Even Skunks, in my baited dog traps,
And I release them as well, since most wild animals are now vanishing much too fast.
