-->“Come forth into the light of things,
Let nature be your teacher.”
William Wordsworth
I was walking in the forest
When I paused by a stream
I thought that I was all alone
When a bird walked up to me
And what a striking creature he was
Dressed in black, orange, and white
His red eyes peered right into mine
This feathered fellow was a delight
He seemed interested in conversing
So I sat down close to him, in the brush
He slowly shuffled his tiny feet in the dirt
He didn’t appear to be in much of a rush
After studying me for a while, he spoke up
“Sueeet! Sueeet! Sueeet! Drink Your Tea!”
I thought that this was extremely good advice
From my feathered friend, an Eastern Towhee
I guessed he had recently arrived in the north
On his spring migration, searching for a mate
I don’t know if he was bored, or got here early
But I’m glad he wanted to chat during his wait
His melodious greeting was quite delightful
His sage advice was pretty darn good too
I think that we both enjoyed our little chat
Eventually, I walked on, and away he flew
“Sueeet! Sueeet! Sueeet! “Drink Your Tea!”
I heard him once again sing, as he flew away
I normally brew a pot of coffee every morning
But in his honor, I’m drinking orange tea today
I always love the chats I have with animals
And Mother Nature always teaches me a lot
I looked up the Eastern Towhee in my bird book
Amazingly, a group of Towhees is called a ‘Teapot’

From a fellow nature lover!
The Buzzard
Another fine telling, loved it!
Peace love and light,

Coincidentally, she just called me from Lowe's and asked what suet was? She was buying birdseed and saw it. I tried to explain what it was, but she couldn't understand why birds would like fat, saying, "They'll get fat … No!" I told her to buy some and try it. Maybe we'll get more birds than the sparrows and a couple of doves the birdseed brings.

Charming this poem and a delight to listen to natures chatter.
The music is a beautiful melody for a spring encounter.
To a cup of tea quarter till three!
