Poem Artwork
If someday upon this site,

You no longer read or see my name

Fret not, for upon these still waters, I can cast no blame,

For I have merely written the closing lines in life’s final and worn page.

So light a candle or two, just for me… if you so kindly will,

And place it with care upon an empty place upon your windows sill,

Then say a prayer that I may receive my abiding grace,

For now my words and deeds, along with remaining dreams,

Have in the quite of night, just simply passed away.

So smile a little smile, and think kindly if you will,

And know that time has made its call,

And this life called me, ....has been fulfilled.

This is well done, J...but I hope it is an exercise in verse and does not represent present or future events...

Well Allen I would hope that doesn't happen anytime soon! There are many of us here that would be deeply regretful.

Al, at the very least you have peaked enough interest with this poem to make people think you may be on the verge of something not too good for your health, at least that is the way I see it...I hope it is not true, but if it is and you are on your way out, well, enjoy your trip is all I can say, wish we could have someday met, maybe we will on the other side...wherever that may be...but I still hope to see more from you on these pages...Peace always, Ed & Rufuz

J. Allen, this is emotionally challenging to say the least. Your work here reeks of a crying soul, a soul calling and bidding adeau, reaching for the hand of another to pull him up and help push him onward, upward. J. Allen, I know this place so well, so familiar in its embrace. This read is intense, timely in the lives of those who have need of an ear to hear their longings. Emotions splendidly captured. These are moments that we all have had and will have. Excellent rendering of a poetic cry, an internal moan. Thank you for the call.

Keep connecting the voices,
Marion
