This Secret Place Of Mine...for Bobbie & Angelo

Though the rivers, mountains and plains may separate us from our home,
Nothing shall stop the spirit, as it through the boundaries of time, doth roam.

 This Secret Place Of Mine

(for Bobbie & Angelo)

Oh, of these magic dreams afar

Oh the joy of this secret place within my heart.

For it is of this land, this sky and its golden fields

It is here within these dreams that my spirit yields.

For I stand now bold upon these mountains tall.

I listen, I pray, I meditate

as I heed my souls soft and tender call.

For it is here upon the plains of my mind

where the winds sweet kisses are soft and warm

It is here beneath this azure sky,

that the musing of my Santa Anna is born.

Oh how I miss this place and time,

Oh how I long to once more claim it as mine.

For I desire to hold and taste once more of this dream

to see the sun rise, to hear the mountains gentle stream.

Oh how I long to be in that secret place of my heart,

To once again nourish my spirit, though it be from afar.

Therefore I, through determination and will,

shall soar once more with the eagles upon this golden hill.

I shall smile across the eons of time,

For I have captured once more

That far away and secret place of mine.

Beautifully written piece. To me it is about our connection with God and how we feel a distance from Him at times. But then, there He is with gentle gifts and miracles.

Such places can exist and do, both in our minds and hearts and for real...you have spoken herein of just one place, so many more are ours for the taking and dreaming...Ed
