I Fear Not....

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

With the heartache of war; poverty and death all around us, we often we lose sight of our true purpose in life. Too often we find ourselves trembling from fear out of our human perception of the unknown. Often we fail to realize that this; our temporal journey here is just that…(temporal) and that this is not our true home.
Therefore…Look up, for greater things are to come as our days draw nigh.

I Fear Not…

I fear not the wind, nor the angry storms of a mighty sea.

I fear not of anything which is brought forth of humanity.

A man may come to take my home, or he may even steal my job.

He may strike sore against my flesh, yet he will never destroy my trust in God.

For I crave not of those things which are temporal and will soon return to dust,

I only desire to remain strong and steadfast in Him of whom I trust.

For of this; my life is as a whisper on the pursed lips of fleeting time,

my journey a mere shadow which crosses the dying fields of mankind.

My days were lain forth before the days of our days were even begun,

My paths were determined before the first rising sun.

Therefore I fear not of anything which man can bring my way,

for he, like I…will soon wither on the whispering wind of another day.

Wonderfully said: What was it Jesus said, "fear not he who kills the body and after that has nothing more he can do to you but fear him who after he has killed the body can throw the sould into everlasting Hell." That is a dim view of God, on the other side, Jeus also said, "look up for your redemption draweth nye. Keep the faith,
God Bless,
