Little China Lost His Way

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Only six weeks old is he, and with no mama to give him love. He was left alone to die in a bramble and thicket of trees. He was once lost, but now he is found, and does almost anything his little kitty heart does please.

Little China Lost His Way

Little China lost his way

We found him in a thicket screaming out night a day.

With no place to go and no home to call his own

He became but another critter to now call our place home.

Pitiful was he with his little kitty scream,

But now he has no fear, for he has gone from pauper to king.

Throughout the house now does Little China roam,

Climbing curtains, chasing string shadows

And on bare feet and legs does he, his claws hone.

Oh but woe is we, as every two hours does he say…

“milk, milk, milk, milk…and hurry, I got to go play.”

Now as quick as a wink we jump to little china’s command,

we warm the milk just right and approach with eyedropper in hand.

Now as you all can see from the picture above,

this little kitty has settled in for some warm milk and tender love.

Now with his little belly all warm and full,

and his little motor set sound to a soft purr,

Little China who is no longer lost,

is on top of the little kitty world.

Looks to me like Little China wasn't lost at all - he knew just where to go!!

And Kudos to both you and your spouse for taking that adorable little rascal in. I hope he brings both of you lots of love and very good times.

well done! if you can find a 'feed store' or other farming type store you might be able to move from the eye dropper to little critter bottles. my little orphans take to the bottle right away and it is so much easier than the dropper. glad he is home!

The fact that we love nourishing two or four legged life gives us joy. We, who love with honest hearts...love giving as much as this wee furry one loves being loved.
You "done good".

Susan

Wonderful descriptive statement. We have a cat that is about twelve. I need to tell you, it gets better or is it worse. I cannot go into the kitchen without her wanting to be fed, even though I may have just fed her five minutes ago.
Good Luck and God Bless,
Lew
