Faded Lines

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Many know the truth, but many will never act on what they know to be, and then….they too become faded lines of the forgotten soul.

Faded Lines

Hands retrace faded lines of the soul.

A life once visible, yet now buried in a dark bitter cold.

To touch, to feel, to live unto this forgotten past

To chase illusions of remission brought hereunto on a crippled mass.

So many men walk alone in this garden of desolation,

They reach out, they search for hope, and they seek salvation.

For it is by vision born of a pure and virgin heart,

That these same souls without redemption do part.

They spake not of the things which their eye did see,

They chose not to partake of their hearts simple plea.

Yet now of those who still remain behind,

They are left but to retrace the forgotten soul

In the obscurity of faded lines.

It's the choices we make! We either are Blessed and KNOW and Don't know and learn over and sometimes over again. Another Great goodie for my eyes and heart this cool brisk evening! Thank you! Warm HuGs, Sheee

Those faded lines are negatives of living. We are given chances 365 days of the year for rebirth. This poem of wisdom is food for those looking for a hint at getting it right the next time. susan

...So many men walk alone in this garden of desolation,
They reach out, they search for hope, and they seek salvation..."

Very profound words. It is where they seek salvation that is even more disheartening.

I agree with Eileen as regards the "command of subject", now if only for myself I could figure out what exactly the subject of this one was...either way, it has a power all its own, as do all you do of write...Ed & Rufuz
