The Promise Fulfilled

The promise of a life fulfilled stretches across the majestic sky.

Rainbows of glory touch the golden fields with hearts hidden eye.

Peace abounds in this land of hope and tender dreams.

Whilst men of former sorrows find the joy that a life fulfilled brings.

So lift up your eyes and with forgiving heart behold the promise of old,

Taste now of the precious hope as across the genteel sky it unfolds.

For man is but a whisper, and his folly but a ruse in his childish game.

Yet, if he will in good heart remember, there is a promise fulfilled written upon his name.

My favorite line in this poem, Allen, is "man is but a whisper..." This point is so true. In the grand scheme of things, life is short and often taken for granted.
