My Sweet December Rose

Though there was just the one lone bloom on our backyard bush. Its presence filled my withering spirit with hope for yet another day.

Poem Artwork

My Sweet December Rose

Under the dark oppressing December sky you bloom for me still.

Alas though with a dearth of winters chill you shine forth from shear will.

Though your coat be sparse, and your thorns worn and broken by time,

Oh you, my rose of December will always be an inspiration of mine.

For it was in the soft dancing light of the large summer moon,

that you sweet rose in all your brilliance came to me full bloom.

Therefore it is unto you my engaging rose of December

That I from within the frost of deepest winter that I, will always…

always remember the soft fragrance of summer, from your precious bloom..

Very nice! The picture is lovely as well.
Your rose is a literal reminder of life and
renewal in a cold and barren time of year.
I enjoyed this.
Be well

Beautiful poem, J. Allen -- it's a miracle of nature to have a rose bloom at this time of year. No wonder you felt such joy. Again, a beautiful poem.
Love,
CJ

I read or heard a quotation "God gave us memories, so that we can have roses in December". In your case it could be the opposite. Your poem is as beautiful as that lone rose. Victor
