Who's Killing All The Santa's ?????

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

First off I want to thank Mr. Ed Kostro for his permission tonight to use Rufuz and Sidekick Ed in my poem. Also thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts of my strange and unusual photograph from yesterdays post “Question To The Den”.

Poem Artwork

Who’s Killing All The Santa’s?????

They once stood bright and tall

Wearing their beards of white and their suits of red,

But now for some demented and callous reason,

Hundreds and hundreds of Santa’s are turning up dead.

I don’t know what to say, I don’t know what to do,

I tried to report these crimes, but I think the police of me misconstrue d.

When I called the officer said to me “you want to do what?”

Then to them I said “listen to me, all the Santa’s in our town are turning up dead.

He laughed a bit and then exclaimed, “Buddy, you must be out of your head.”

Now I really did not know where to turn from here.

Crimes had taken place and I felt the demise of Frosty was also near.

It was then that I recalled from not too long back,

about a detective from New Jersey who with difficult cases had a knack.

His name was Ruff ‘N Ready Rufuz Pet Detective and his human sidekicks name Ed Matlock…errr I mean Ed Matlack.

So post haste to the phone I went and dialed information for the agency number

and then I prayed out loud that they too would not think of me as a quack.

Matlock answered the phone and said that Rufuz was Ready but not at home,

However he felt sure that he would take the case if I provided all the “Milkbone”

Alas to this I agreed, and down South into Dixie they came with God’s speed.

Two days now on the Case Santa they have been and still not a single lead.

So at present I have no clue how Santa ended up dead this way.

yet to my chilling horror still I saw three dead reindeer today.

Poor Poor Santas - and now three reindeer - Shocking. But if any detective in the land can solve this case, it's Ruff 'N Ready Rufuz. And he'll probably work much faster, since he left his wacky slow poke sidekick at home! Go Rufuz!

Good Morning Allen...must be all those inflated egos causing a plethora of red piles. Seen a few of those here in the hills of Tennessee too...must be a rash of drive bys. I did most happily note the resurrection of an enormous Frosty just yesterday however. I suspect someone found a cure for his glorious resurrection.

I thoroughly enjoyed this humorous pen this morning. Now if I had only learned to drink coffee. I'll give C.J. my cup!
Love,
Taylor

J Allen~ I don't think their dead...I think they have been stealing Ruff ‘N Ready Rufuz Pet Detective, sidekick's bourbon... and they are all just stoned out of their beards!
Love and Peace~

Mr. Matlack has to stay home,
To good ole' southern dixie Rufuz did go for da' bone,
He took his Jeep & drove most safely worried about hitting even a stone,
He has been on the job & has yet to find the mob,
That may be killing off these Santa's,
Probably for their presents to rob...

But on the case he still does be,
No bad people has he yet to see,
Though he thinks the guy that wrote this poem,
Maybe just a bit like the cop said be out of his head,
But since his side kick did ask, he of this guy does know em'...
