My Birthday Surprise

When awoke today I was sad about the thought of getting old.

Yet you held me close and to me your sweet love did show.

Another year now has marched me against a raging wind.

And even still, you loved me more and promised to do so until the end.

Your love has touched me beyond all the words that can be said.

The tenderness and passion of your sweet ways is the best to be had.

It is to you oh Leah, my true love; my soul mate; my darling wife.

It is to you that I bid my thanks for this wonderful day; this wonderful life.

You see, growing old has never been easy for this tender heart of mine.

Yet in doing so with you it has caused this sad soul here to shine.

If I never were see another tomorrow or taste the warmth of another day.

I could with all honesty profess that my life with you was truly by Him ordained.

So thank you darling for all years and all the joy that you to me impart.

Thank you for loving me and always holding me always close to your heart.

Thank you so much for everything; thank you Leah for this wonderful day.
