Poem Artwork

Sweet Savannah; A Past Lover Of Mine

She’s a scintillating, arousing, steamy dream.

She’s former lover whose scents to my soul cling.

She beguiles me from beneath her jaded veil.

She calls me with her salacious song to void my will.

She conjures her magic beneath a moss laden tree.

She spins her dreams to steal my soul; she ensnares me.

Oh Savannah, sweet mistress of mine I hear your plaintive cry.

Oh my dear Savannah, to your arms I return when the day strikes five.

So be gentle when you of these frail lips kiss again.

Be unto me with tenderness as you draw me one more time within.

Take care to caress my spirit and hold very close this heart of mine.

Woo me like you did before and romance me still one more time.

*In five days, Leah and I will lie with this Southern lady by the sea.

Sweet Savannah, Ga. will have ten days to capture me.

*Footnote: It is to my dismay, but this may be my last 3 months on the den.

With my dues freshly paid, I will but have to wait to see what July brings.

Allen

At some point down the road literary history is going to have to count you among the great bards of Savannah's many lures and charms!

Have a fantastic National Poetry Month.

Hey there,

Savannah is the most notable siren of the south and her vouce is as intoxicating as no other. You, Aberjhani and I should meet in Savannah one day. Now that would be intoxicating.

Having been there myself, I can understand your love for this lady.

Having just visited this fine city first time in January, she captured my heart. Your lovely poem makes me wish that I could join you to walk along the squares in full spring bloom.
Have a beautiful time falling in love again.
