Mr. Matlack… Can Rufuz Come And Play?......By China Wilson

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Dear Mr. Matlack, as you can see from my photograph I am not near as mean as Allen says I am.
So if you don’t mind, please loan Rufuz the keys to your SUV so we can have some good ole southern fun.

Mr. Matlack… Can Rufuz Come And Play?......By China Wilson

Now this piece is for the entire world to see, this little poem and this little picture of … ME.

For those of you who know of my manner, you’ll just have to try real hard and understand.

I’m not as wild as they say I am, it just that they hold me captive when I was born to be free.

Yet being held prisoner I guess is not too bad, it’s just when they make those funny faces and do silly things that I think are a sham.

It was like this when I turned a year old this forth of July and Mama Leah tried to dress me like somebody named Uncle Sam….now what would you think if you were me?

You know, I don’t really remember how I came to live Leah and Al, and I will never forgive them since I now will never be able to go out will some cute little gal. (For my own good I heard them say…But I think it was because of all their territory I did spray)

Now yall will have to excuse me as this is my first little poem, but I just wanted to see if Uncle Ed would let Rufuz come play with me.

I mean the big people (Allen and Leah), well I guess that they are OK, but Al gets upset when it’s a fight I crave.

So Uncle Ed, I beg of you, as you can see from my photo, I’m on my bed and feeling a little blue.

I promise that will not of Rufuz nose scratch or bite, but if he’s up to it I’m really itching for a fight.

You can call Al sometime and let him know, but in the meantime I’ll just lie low.

Thanks so much MJ for telling China this...I think he took it better coming from you; Gen'l Jackson and Inspector Piggsley...even still he is wary of me when I take out the Scissors to trim my beard........Thanks

We have a cat, too. Or does she have us? HMMMM!

Great write. Amusing and entertaining.
God Bless,

We humans do many silly things, China! And I bet old Rufie boy sneaks those Jeep keys out, and comes for a visit - I hear he's a better driver than his Dad!

You take a very nice photo, too.

enjoyed the read.

Gen'l Jackson and Inspector Piggsley send their regards. Old Unca Midway , who has raised many a kitten or puppy as they have arrived insists that neuter is a better way for little boys to go.

Well, I got to say,
That if wants to go all that way,
Too with a cat just play,
He is most welcome to do so,
He did however lose his license though,
So driving my Jeep is off the list,
Maybe though he can grab a cab, if you get my gist,
But Al you better take care as well,
As Rufuz loves to play by biting ones fist...e & R
