Always Know

While you slept I held you close to my heart today.

I stroked your hair; I held the realm of darkness at bay.

I kissed you as you lay sleeping; I ran with you in your field of dreams.

I vowed unto our God that I, oh I would always meet your every need.

For it is unto this life that we have grown and shared.

It was by holy union that we were eternally paired.

So remember this even unto twilight’s final hour.

Remember that I am the gentle rain and that our love is our power.

I will always be here and keep you close by my side.

I will forever be your true love and you mine.

So sleep for now with the angels in your dreams.

And always know that I from your heart will never leave.
