The Front Porch & Jasmines Bloom

Fireflies dance unto the summer night's dark whisper.
Stars linger; confederate jasmine blooms an exotic elixir.
Rocking chairs on the front porch boards softly creak.
Cats in midnights slumber cautiously sleep.

A lone car passes by driven by the fullness of the moon.
Whippoorwills painfully sigh single sorrows in their mournful tune.
Seconds in the night chase the minutes; lazily turning the hour.
Rocking chairs creak on the porch, as blissful silence gives of its healing power.

Sweet dreams now caress; the moon wanes before it sets.
This life afore thee now; this my day somehow.

If that's your front porch, J. Allen, I think you've found Heaven.

Put this one to music and you would have the most beautiful lullaby. Brilliant work.
