My Little Kitty

My little kitty is so courageous as he struts to and fro like a king.

Every day with him there is always something fascinating and new.

Shucks I remember once he defended Leah from an invading snake.

And now for the last two weeks he’s guarded Leah night and day.

I haven’t said as much, but Leah has been very ill for quite sometime.

Yet my little China surprised me much with the dedication of his time.

For example, when it was time for medicine, he would of Leah softly approach.

And with a throaty brrrrr…brrrr she would awake and of her medicine surely take.

Historically, China has had little to do with my precious wife.

Yet now they are thicker than thieves and could not be parted if I were to try.

Its like he senses her pain, it’s like he is there to save her day.

I must in all honesty admit…I am totally in awe and simply amazed.

If I come in when he is standing guard and I slowly approach Leah in the bed.

He will rise up on front legs, show a few teeth and give me “The Eye”

And then when he is sure it’s safe once again on her feet he will lay his head.

With that ominous stare I take my cue; I whisper to my wife I love you.

Then with cat feet of my own I slowly creep out of the room.

China will then look at me and it’s if he nods his head OK.

And in his kitty cat talk I will hear him quietly say…

“Come back anytime you like, but if you know what’s good for you… not too soon.”

Allen,

I'm sorry Leah's ill - China senses it and brings her comfort. Excellent write.

(((HUGS))) and love to you, Leah and China (you're in our prayers), Karla.

Allen, our critters sense so much when we are ill...they know we suffer in pain and agony. Cat's are noted for their compassion & care during people's illnesses...they'll remain by one's side until the very end. They are angels...yes angels, who show us love and watch over us in our hours of need. I do hope your wife's health will improve and I'll keep "Leah" in my prayers.

Animals have a greater sense of need when we are sick. My father's kitty, Felix, never left his side except to go outside for his nature call and to eat. Diligently he slept by my father's side until he got better. Then he would always come in many times a day....to check.

Blessings to you and Leah,
Love,
Susan

Firstly and most importantly I am very sorry to hear of Leah being in any way ill. And as for the cat, tis good to have a protector when one cannot protect the self...take good care of both of them, Mr. Wilson, or we might have to send Dennis the Menace over...Ed & Rufuz
