Simple Is The Rose

I bought Leah this small WHITE miniature rose the day she was diagnosed with cancer in hope of bringing a smile to her face…I know how much she loved flowers for to her they were the essence of beauty that God gave man to enjoy. However after a week in the window it began to die and she told me to remove it since it was gone…I however am never one to give up and I planted it in the back yard as the dried up stick it was. It languished all summer through her sickness looking as if it like my Leah was gone. I told God the other night how much I missed my wife and how I longed to see her once again….yesterday when cutting grass I noticed a small pale pink emerging from the overgrown lawn….it was Leah’s rose and it was a pale pink her favorite color…not white. Somehow I see her now in that small blossom….not the dead dried up stick, but the resurrected beauty of the flower she truly is.

Simple Is The Rose

 

 

Soft pinks bleed like the colors of your cheeks.

Delicate the beauty; oh simple is the rose.

Like you; oh so like you to somehow let me know.

 

Given over once to the land of the dying.

Reborn in glory; joy lifted from this hearts sighing.

Never to you shall I ever in my simple heart forget.

For by this act; this tiny bloom my love remains.

Delicate and simple like the rose you are; free to rejoice; free from pain.

 

I’ll never forget…I am always here for you….

 

With all my love baby…with all my love.

She is that pink rose and left you a sign. Tom left me a butterfly on his Memorial Service day. They do live on and on. I read a religious book where it said Heaven is beautiful like nothing you can imagine and when you get there you will be surprised. The writer could not emphasize the beauty of heaven enough and it cheered me up just knowing my Tom is in a beautiful place now like that and I can go to it too when my time comes.
