Carolina Clay
I try with my all to bury my thoughts of you deeper each passing day.
Yet with each hour that passes I still feel your presence emerging from the Carolina clay.
I try to run and hide from all the things that still remind me of you.
However I find that there is no escape in this land of hearts black and blue.
I even take you in and perform a “last rites” burial some ten miles out at sea.
Yet the tides of all our years keep…oh keep pulling on the shell that is me.
Tomorrow will mark the day that your tender sweet spirit left this earth.
And yet with each passing day I find that my heart grows not better but worse.
I force myself to do the things in this life that the world says I must.
And I still on bended knee look into the dark cold heavens seeking to trust.
However try as I may or try as hard as I might, I fail to line my mind with my heart
as I feel that I am quickly losing the vision of dreams which give unto me life from the start.
So try as hard as I can to bury you deeper and deeper each passing day.
You still oh you still Leah manage to pull yourself out of the Carolina clay.

Lovely write, a lovely life!
This one is so open, so full of honest emotion - but most of all, it is full of love. That can't be buried or sent off to sea. It's been a part of you so long ... and still continues to be. Poignantly penned sadness - know you are always in my prayer.
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
