Hearts Lonely Door
I hear the cold steel door close as my world becomes dark once again.
I hear the footfall of others as they live in the splendor of life’s light.
Constant is their movement as they pass by this lonely hearts cold door.
And I wonder if this punishment of mine will last forevermore.
I pace back and forth in the darkness confined by the walls of heart and mind.
And I ask God how loving someone with heart and soul is construe d a crime.
I bump into wall after wall as in dark circles I continuously roam.
And I remember as if in a dream a life before this darkness became my home.
More footsteps I hear from the other side of this hearts lonely cold door.
I hear voices filled with laughter; jocular emissions of sound…
I cry once more, for I once knew that life that lives beyond hearts lonely door.

It's called grief. One moment, think I'm doing okay, the next, crushed under the weight of guilt: of living without the one who mattered most ... I hear you. Here for you. Painful, sad write full of tears, deftly penned.
(((HUGS))) love and prayer, Karla.
