The DEN of Love

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Today makes seven months to the day that this strange and horrible journey began. Leah was diagnosed in June with Pancreatic cancer and lay dead in my arms on September the 7th… her birthday. There have been many here in the Den who has walked every mile of this long road with me from the start. When Leah lived…you prayed for her; sent cards of support…and gave joy and comfort through the simple and unselfish act of love.

After my sweet and precious Leah passed…you left not this worrisome road but shouldered up and continued this walk with me…I find this act of compassion to exemplify the love that God has instilled in us all… sadly its just that there are many in the world who do not use this love, but rather shutter it away in the recesses of their heart.

If I had a million years and a million reams of paper; I could never put into words enough to express how much this has touched my soul. Though you may not see it today, but what you have sown in your kindness and compassion will someday come to harvest… but trust me in knowing this…that every seed of love you sow along life’s rocky way will someday mature into a beauty beheld not by many.

May God richly bless each and every one of you and my prayer is that what you have sown in love will manifest itself in your own lives one hundred fold.

Poem Artwork

The Den Of Love

They are known only in distance… in pictures and words.

Yet they have blessed my life when only my sorrows were heard.

They come from all walks of life; they come from all over the world.

They showed the love of God as to them my heart I unfurled.

They are the Den of love; just regular people who unselfishly nurtured a need.

There names are many and their ranks not so few…

They loved and still love as I continually send forth my laminations silent plea.

They are the den of love…and I pray that God meet their every need.

Love that photo. You are looking really good and keeping up good appearances. I don't mind giving my love and prayers to you as I did while Leah was here too. I love the photos of her and you and both of you and the stories. Can read them again and again. Take care this year and remember the friends on the den are here for you always. We need you here to to read your simply wonderful writes.

Allen~

We are family; that's why we care about you so much! Plus we know the sting of grief, too; we lost our daddy five months before you lost your precious Leah. Know you are loved and will continue to be on my prayer list; I pray for you every day!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :) X0X0X0X0

(((Allen))),

And why wouldn't we walk this road with you? We're family. When one of our own hurts, we hurt right along with them. Know you continue to be in my heart, my prayers -

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Allen, It is easy to give love, when love is so abundant in that person receiving it. You are love, and loved! Keep on traveling my friend, because you will be strong and will fulfill this love proclamation.
Peace, LOVE, and Light always,
