Tiny Wings
Time slips on tiny wings unto the rise and fall of a delicate setting sun.
Sandy white shores play out in the heart and mind calling forth the day is done.
Should not hopes and dreams be held close to the wayfarers’ soul with tender heart?
Or should he who lives on faith let go as he watches those tiny wings sweetly part?
I stand now before the day, which leads back onto a road cold and dark.
And as tomorrow slips quickly into yesterday I’ll always remember with a smile a butterfly’s heart.
Does now a bit of sadness creep beneath these words penned so deep?
Of course…of course, for a week of joy will soon partake of a years sleep.
Yet as I climb above the mountains, even as I reach the utter limits of the sky.
I will be thankful for the little things that came on the tiny wings of a delicate little butterfly.
