Poem Artwork
A Most Beautiful Dream

A soft spring rain danced to a gentle rythm beneath the pale glow of the street light.
My eyes grew heavy and were lulled into slumber by the intoxicating sounds of this Southern night.
This stillness that calmed me ushered in the dreams of tomorrow, and the sweet days that are soon to come.
Be it though I dreamnt, my heart and soul joyfuly cried  as she and I walked together holding hands side by side.

In my dream, the setting sun now tip toed like a tired giant upon the horizon in the west.
its finger like beams painting the glorious sky above from the ocean to the dunes crest..
Standing now beneath this ever evolving canvas of electric colors I held her in warm embrace.
We said nothing, only starring deep and longingly at the painted frescos etched on each others face.

From this dream which was lain upon me; from this sweet world of my silent sleep.
I leaned over and ever so softly gave her loves sweet kiss with my lips tenderly brushing her face.
She smiled as my heart melted into the shifting warm sand; then there was a clap of thunder....
And I awkend to its sound only to realized I had dreamed a most beautiful dream.

I then arose from my lazy spot on the front porch swing;
Istopped at the front door to shake lose from my sandels the small grains of sand
that followed me back from this my most beautiful dream.

J. Allen,

I can imagine the beautiful scenery with your words. For what is as beautiful as a soft spring southern night and the beautiful dreams with it.
