A Box Of Dreams

Once upon at time there was a man

Who upon a shelf his dreams he did store.

With each passing year he would remove the lid

And deposit yet another dream once more.

The years quickly passed; ever so quickly they went by

And his box of dreams grew and grew upon his secret shelf.

For with each year that passed another dream he would apply.

He would store his dreams for “someday” until there was no room left inside.

Then one day he went to deposit another dream

And to his despair he found that they all,

Had unknowingly and without notice slipped away.

Sadness overwhelmed him as he thought of his dreams,

Sadness in that his dreams were meant to forever last.

Therefore upon a shore of doom, and gloom he came to live.

He thought of his box of dreams that he dreamt he would live soon.

With eyes cast out across and endless and unmoving sea.

He wept for what was lost for he felt he would nevermore dream.

Then with eyes wide shut he searched his heart for the hope of another day.

The winds of change began to whisper and all around him

Beautiful gardens began to bloom in amazing colors filled with grace.

For in this garden that was born from the very inner part of his heart.

There came forth fresh green shoots and beautiful blooms of tiny dreams

Filled now and overflowing with the blossoms assured of a new start.

Now he has another box in which to deposit his newly grown dreams.

Yet instead of hoarding them for “someday”

He will live them in the garden of New Hope

That she did ever so softly on a smile and whisper bring.

For he now realized that dreams are like flowers

And they are to be lived and not to be hid away.

He understood that when you save all these things

For a future time one can all to easily lose that someday.

Therefore gather your dreams and tuck them safely away.

Yet do not hoard them forever, as there may never come someday.

For it is upon her whisper and the graceful smile upon her face.

That this little man now lives his dreams in a world called “summers place”
