She Taught Me Much
She taught me to really see the beauty and uniqueness in all things.
Like unto a face in the clouds; as into the stillness of the wonderment daydreams.
Oh, she taught me so much with her childlike faith in what we can truly see.
I can now see a smile that might dress the simple bark of a peculiar tree.
I see the glorious words of God spelled out in a shimmering rainbow;
And I hear His words through the sights and sounds of nature that to me He brings.
Yes she taught me so much, but what I remember the most …
Is the soulful sweetness in which her soul did sing.
I can touch the petal of a fall flower, and I will smell her walking about me creasing the air.
I can watch the invisible wind as it blows through the trees;
I can almost even now see her at the edge of the field standing there.
Yes...she taught me so much,
But most of all, she showed me the beauty of God.
She showed me the gentleness of His touch.
Yes…she taught me much.
