The Spirit Of The Lord
Oak hewn pews are filled with those who seek.
The congregation of believers gathers ever so meek.
Eyes are closed in reverence to prayers for the King of Kings.
Amazing Grace so softly did before humble hearts softly sing.
The drums; guitars and all instruments fell silent as the spirit of the Lord spoke.
Conviction fell upon stony yet yearning hearts, as tears from heaven began to flow.
A hush fell as unto a whispering wind which walked invisibly on the coming streets of gold.
His words were soft, yet firm; His command to all that believe; the time is at hand for all to be bold.
Therefore, and thus commands the Lord; the time of harvest is at hand.
Sore are the troubles of this world as decimation is soon to grip the land.
Yet many fail to see for they look with their mortal eyes, and not with the eyes of the spirit.
They see only the now never grasping the coming end of this planet we fondly call earth.
The music continued, and the choir again began to sing.
The hush had ceased, yet now all eyes were laid upon the King.
Then I heard the spirit of the Lord speak ever so softly to me.
“Allen, I have given you these trials; the loss of Leah;
The fire of new love, too almost lost so that you will forever,
And ever rely not on your strength, yet rely solely on me”.
For you have been quickened in spirit to the days that are to come.
You my child have seen; hurt, and know by my spirit what needs to be done.
I then heard the last song that the choir did sing as tears creased my face.
They sang with the voice of angels “Just As I Am”.

· Authors note: There may be many of you who shall read these words and scoff, yet if it should only motivate one soul to seek forgiveness; if it should only bring a sliver of hope to those this burdened by the troubles of this world, then rest assured that there is life eternal in Christ Jesus. I as you have seen the travails that this world can offer. I as many of you have loved and lost. Yet God is good; He is our strength in our time of trouble, but only if we yield to Him. I hate to admit this, as I have always believed in God from my youth. Yet when I lost my Leah to cancer…for many…many months I WAS mad at God. I could not understand how He could take such a woman as Leah who had the faith of Job home, but now I understand that this is just a portion of the refining of my spirit.
Perhaps too He is trying you; maybe He wants you to put you burdens at His feet. Maybe you are like I…mad at God for taking away from you something that is temporal and causing you grief. Maybe you are in doubt of the existence of God…I know I did as I prayed harder than many could ever imagine for Leah’s healing. Yet that is OK…because God came to the earth in flesh. He took on the sins of man so that all who call upon His name shall have life eternal.
I still have another trial in which to endure with the aneurism of my new wife to be just last month. Yet as stated before…God is good…just trust in Him NOW…for the end of days is truly at hand. Please keep Jan and I in your prayers.
As God has gripped your heart, dear Allen, may He grip each needy heart who reads your words.
You can assure Jan and her son, too, that they are loved and prayed for by your friends, including your AD friends.
Sincerely,
Connie
(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :)
Just silence and reverance.
God bless,
Lew
