Clinging to the Hem of HIS Garment
These weary eyes have seen both the light and the darkness.
This simple heart cries but to place upon the yearning heart a smile.
I know that you chase dreams, yet I can’t touch the sun or steal the moon.
Yet if I could, oh if I could I would in my heart give it all unto you.
Joy falls now like unto tears from heaven; sorrows oppress like unto the soft silence.
The shadows of life creep like an ancient serpent in which to steal our days under the sun.
Yet it is through a never-ending faith that I must lay my trust in He who surely redeems.
Too many dark eyes have I seen; too much hurt, too much sorrow and ubiquitous dreams.
Thus I close my eyes and sleep before angels who come upon whispers wings.
Their voices speak unto me and show me a brief glimpse of even greater things.
Even though the darkness has thrice upon my day attempted to steal joy and the promise of hope.
I shall forever cling to the hem of His garment with my eyes set upon Jesus, our true deliverer when even in summer the hot skies deliver a pouring snow.

I often cling to His garment, and this is a poem that I can identify with. Blessings,
