A Timely Call From Ed Matlack

I got a call tonight from Eddie M. tonight, this time him checking on me.

It pleased me very much to hear from my old friend whom I have yet to meet.

His voice was strong, his demeanor now jovial and not sad.

To hear and to feel this in my spirit made me exceedingly glad.

This is a man who has been to hell and back, but now embraces the light.

I am so proud of him and to hear his voice was a true delight.

He has a job now that came just in the nick of time.

He is moving forward; He laughs out loud at my southern accent.

He also jokes about how it is I that I am getting old.

Nonetheless, his call of concern to me did wholly bless.

When we hung up, it was now I who asked him to pray for me.

Thank you sir for a timely call when it is now I who is in need.

God Bless you sir for blessing me, thank you for what tonight you gave to me.

Just a simple call of concern: something that will to my soul cleave.

God Bless you sir, and may He ALWAYS guide your way.
