Some Say That God Does Not Exist

by J. Allen Wilson — Read all 1,629 poems by J. Allen Wilson

Just a simple quote shall this prologue contain…”You cannot out give God”…this is for a special angel of whom I shall never name. For God knows who he is…and all I can to for him is to pray and say thanks.

Some Say That God Does Not Exist

Too many times have I heard from both strangers and friends that God is not real?

They are too quick to chime in that this life is as it is and once dead it becomes the final deal.

Yet it is through this life of this simple man called me.

It is by these days in which I have seen the blessings of my King.

Many shall say if God is real, then why all the hurt; why all the pain?

Though I struggle with each and every day, I have long ago discovered that it is by His truth we find the way.

It is when the skies of life draw unto the darkest of nights.

It is by Jesus who forever holds us all within His sights.

I have seen the trauma of death as it danced cheek to cheek with me.

I have held its hand as I let it take a pure love and set it free.

I have withstood floods that tore away at my earthly home.

Yet by faith, love and understanding I shall not roam.

God truly is good, if you have but the faith to receive.

I may have said that once in my life, but changed my mind of late, as you know, and now will argue the fact that God does exist, as he has shed many blessings on me...Ed
