A Letter To Heaven; A Letter To Leah


Two years ago today on your birthday Leah, two whole years have passed since your gaze fell from my face and you close your eyes here on earth and opened them in the realms of heaven.
I still think about you often and I guess I will always in some odd, sweet little way.
We were together a long time and as with everyone we had our share of ups and downs.
However we still managed to overcome them with the grace of God and move forward.

My life has changed in so many ways since you left. Not long after you passed away our little cat “China” died in my arms as well. I buried him in the back yard next to your miracle rose that despite all odds blooms twice a year. I also have found another to love and to love me back. Her name is Jan and she is very sweet. Even in that I almost lost her in April of this year to a brain aneurysm. You would like her a lot Leah. She is like you in many ways, and in other ways she is not.

Also just to let you know, I am still watching over your mother everyday just like I promised you that last week as your sweet blue eyes started to dim. I also wrote a book about you and us during your / our journey with cancer, but it is not selling too well. I know that most people will call this letter to you a little off base, but that is OK by me.
I just wanted to take a minute and tell you how much you were loved by everyone and how much you are missed. I also wanted to say thank you for twenty-three wonderful years together. Happy Birthday Baby…say hello to Jesus for me….
